Design Culture Now Poster - Typography Project

 For this typographic class project, we were required to design a poster only from the required body copy given to us, which included the information on each artist, place of the event, and the title "Design Culture Now". These are a few of my top designs before finalizing the top image for this class to turn in to the teacher for a final critique and grade on the project. Each design is ONLY made from text, no other shapes or forms.

Working with typefaces that show legibility, readability, and expression in a readable form and expressive image. These four images go from being able to easily read all the information to the information not being legible at all and forming an image.

Alternative Energy Advertising Campaign - Class Project

 

For this class project students were tasked with designing an advertisement campaign for NV Energy that shows them as being environmentally sensitive. We were required to focus the campaign on one alternative energy source. and come up with our own headline(s), bodycopy and layouts for all required advertising pieces. It has to be emphasized that the concepts are what’s important, without a strong concept and theme no computer wizardry will make a mediocre concept work. 

Four different media types will be used for this campaign, they are:

1. Magazine advertisement, 7.75” x 11.625”

2. Billboard, 18’ tall x 48’ wide (scale 1/4” = 1’)

3. Super King Panel Bus Vinyl, 129” x 120” (scale 1” = 1’)

4. Website Banner Advertisement, 300 px X 250 px

Students must then start the research process, research NV Energy, the customers of NV Energy, and ways that a large company like NV Energy is or could become more environmentally sensitive. I chose to focus my campaign on the environment and how NV Energy could harness the power of the sun in a safe way when disposing of any extra or unused hardware used in making solar panels.

While the spread of the Coronavirus has been slowed down people are still getting sick and loosing their lives to the virus. Continue to practice social distancing and only go out if absolutely necessary.
